Earrings are known to exist from time immemorial with many interesting stories, beliefs and facts associated with them. A section of our primitive tribal women extended their earlobes and wore heavy danglers on them. Sailors wore earrings as an indication of their success as also they were believed to have worn them as some means of a payment for their own burials, should their bodies be washed away on shores during ship wrecks. Larger the earring, they thought, more elaborate would be their burial.

Today, earrings are an essential part of a woman's accessory for almost all occasions and special events.  We see women, sometimes wearing those long deep necklines, choosing to not wear necklaces and other elaborate jewels for an occasion; should the accessories take away from their dress. But rarely or never do we spot someone with no earrings on them. Extensive and intricately designed elaborate earrings or simple yet sophisticated designer jewellery pieces for the ears are the byword to complete looks and are a great complement to the outfit of the evening.
